Counseling at Fayette Academy
The mission of the Fayette Academy Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. School Counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians and the community, school counselors facilitate the support system to ensure the academic success and development of personal and social skills needed for healthy relationships and interactions.
Services
- Providing engaging classroom lessons aiming to teach our students important life skills and character education
- Counseling students individually and in groups in order to assist them in dealing with conflict, stress, anxiety, peer pressure, friendships, loss, etc.
- Advocating for all students in supporting academic development
- Meeting with students individually every year starting in grade 5 to assist them in course planning in alignment their with college and career interests
- Supporting students through the college planning process
- Advocating, mediating, coordinating, consulting, and collaborating with parents/guardians to help their student receive the resources they need
- Referring students to outside resources when necessary

Fayette Academy’s comprehensive college counseling program includes college fairs, informational sessions with college representatives, and assistance with applications, interviews, and scholarships.
