We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and organized Performing Arts Director to lead our middle and high school theater programs. If you love inspiring young artists, building collaborative communities, and bringing stories to life on stage, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead our theater department and oversee all aspects of our middle and high school productions. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Direct & Produce: Plan, cast, rehearse, and direct two major productions per year (typically a middle school show and a high school musical/play).
- Technical Oversight: Coordinate stage design, lighting, sound, costuming, and props (working alongside student crews and/or parent volunteers).
- Instruction & Mentorship: Teach performing arts electives or drama classes (if applicable) and mentor students in acting, vocals, and stagecraft.
- Collaboration: Partner with the music/band department, choreographers, and school administration to ensure seamless, high-quality productions.
- Budget & Promotion: Manage the production budget, coordinate ticket sales, and promote performances to the school and local community.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Prior experience directing youth theater, school musicals, or community theater productions.
- Education: A degree in Theater, Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field (teaching certification is preferred, but not required)
- Skills: Strong organization, communication, and crowd-control skills (working with middle and high schoolers requires high energy and great patience!).
- Passion: A genuine desire to foster a creative and supportive environment where every student can shine.
