Fayette Academy Expands STEM Learning with TVA Grant and Ozobots

unnamed 1

Fayette Academy is preparing students for exciting futures in STEM, thanks to a grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc. (BVI), and support from Chickasaw Electric Cooperative.

With the funding, teacher Ms. Haylee Montague introduced Ozobots—small programmable robots that help students learn coding, robotics, and problem-solving through hands-on activities. Her project, Ozobots: An Introduction, includes creative lessons like drawing color-coded paths, building obstacle courses, storytelling, and timed races.

These activities bring coding to life and encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. We are deeply grateful to TVA, BVI, Chickasaw Electric Cooperative, and Ms. Montague for helping ignite a passion for STEM at Fayette Academy.

The Annual Fund is the philanthropic foundation of giving at Fayette Academy aimed at providing special resources for students and faculty that will support educational programs not covered by tuition alone.

Your contribution to the 2023-2024 Fayette Academy Annual Fund is more than just a donation; it’s an investment in the future of education. Every gift, regardless of its size, plays a crucial role in enriching our innovative curriculum, fostering a lifelong passion for learning among both students and faculty.

Past annual funds have supported campus enhancements, technology, STEM, athletics, and the arts.
