Fayette Academy is a 501(3)c non-profit PK2-12 co-educational organization seeking an Early Childhood (EC) Assistant Teacher to support our mission of inspiring minds for learning and hearts for Christ. The EC Assistant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment that promotes children to develop socially, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. The Early Childhood division focuses on creating a warm and caring atmosphere of playful exploration and discovery which ignites inquiry and incorporates multi-sensory experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children following all standards set forth by the Tennessee Department of Education regarding Early Childhood childcare.
- Assist the lead teacher with daily instructional plans which demonstrate knowledge of best practice in differentiated instruction and implement pedagogical approaches that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Contribute to the school community by attending school events and maintaining positive relationships with the faculty and staff.
- Engage in professional learning and growth, including co-planning, department meetings, age level meetings and other opportunities of professional development and growth.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with students, inspiring a love for learning and fostering the development of positive, productive members of society.
- Establish and uphold classroom expectations that support the whole child and develop lifelong learners.
- Maintain close relationships with families, including assisting lead teacher’s in development and publishing of classroom calendars, newsletters, posts on SeeSaw, and parent communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Development preferred
- Experience with pre-school age children preferred
- Personal characteristics include flexibility, creative, energetic, self-motivated, and high sense of integrity
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
