David Douglas is a 1996 honor graduate of Fayette Academy and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Banking and Finance in 2000. David earned his juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi in 2002. He returned to his home of Somerville to work with the law firm of Minor Johnston in 2003, later added as partner in 2006 for the law firm of Minor Johnston Douglas. David has served as the Municipal Judge for the cities of Atoka, Mason, and Munford in Tipton County since March of 2005 and was also appointed as the Municipal Judge of Moscow and LaGrange in Fayette County in 2008 and 2010 and the city of Hickory Valley in Hardeman County in 2020. In August of 2022, he was elected as the General Session Judge of Fayette County and currently serves in that position. David resides in Somerville with his wife, Erin, and his two children, Harrison (6th) and Anna Rollins (4th).
