Monia Garabito

Monia Garabito, secretary, and her husband, Fred, are both retired from the U.S. Air Force and secondary careers. Monia earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University and a master’s degree from Golden Gate University, both in Government and Public Affairs. After graduating, she was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force with her first duty assignment in Arizona, and she served in various levels of leadership positions in several stateside and overseas assignments—the Pentagon, England, Iceland, and Korea. Upon retiring from her military career, Monia transferred her years of experience to the Virginia State Police in office administration. Son, Kenses, is a junior and has attended Fayette Academy since the seventh grade. Monia and her family are active in the Fayette Academy Performing Arts Program, and she volunteers countless hours supporting numerous school fund-raising activities.
