The Tennessee Valley Authority, in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Inc., awards a record $1.5 million in STEM grants to local schools. Haylee Montague, Early and Lower School STEM teacher at Fayette Academy, receives a $5000 grant for the “Building Minds, Brick by Brick” initiative, which aims to achieve key outcomes in the school’s STEM program. With the awarded grant funds, Fayette Academy’s STEM program will incorporate hands-on LEGO real-world-based challenges that ignite learning and inspire exploration in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The “Building Minds, Brick by Brick” program will deepen STEM understanding while imparting vital life skills and a commitment to innovation.
