We are proud to announce the hiring of Robert Akins as our new Head Football Coach. Coach Akins brings more than four decades of coaching experience and a proven record of excellence at every stop of his career. A former standout defensive back at Marshall Academy, Northwest Mississippi Community College, and Harding University, he was an All-State performer, conference champion, and record-holder before beginning his coaching journey.

Over 40 years as a head coach, Akins has compiled an impressive 260–199 record in 459 varsity games, leading his teams to the playoffs 23 times. His résumé includes a state championship in 2003 at Boyd Buchanan School, multiple state finals appearances, and region and area Coach of the Year honors. He was inducted into the Chattanooga Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2023 and the Tennessee Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2024. Coach Akins’ experience, leadership, and championship pedigree make him an outstanding addition to our program, and we look forward to the impact he will have on our student-athletes and community.
